Closing The Bones Ceremony
A traditional postpartum ritual for integration, healing, and rebirth.
Closing the Bones is a traditional Mexican postpartum ceremony designed to support a mother as she transitions through the profound initiation of birth. This ritual offers a sacred space to process the birth story, release emotional residue, and bring the mother back into her body after the physical and energetic opening of pregnancy and labour.
This five–six hour ceremony is facilitated by myself and my trusted colleague Siobhan, allowing for deep presence, care, and holding. The experience includes a guided debrief of your birth journey, a full-body massage, herbal tea and nourishment, a warming herbal bath or sweating ritual, and a rebozo closing ceremony that gently draws the energy and bones of the body back into alignment.
This ceremony honours birth as a rite of passage, tending to the emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual layers of postpartum recovery. It supports grounding, integration, nervous system settling, and a sense of being witnessed, held, and restored.
